Car Accidents in California
Vehicle crashes in California leave countless people injured every year. There are many cases where people suffer from significant injuries that demand extensive treatment. Common injuries that are reported in vehicle collisions in our state include:
Traumatic brain injury: A traumatic brain injury (TBI) can occur when the head impacts the ground or another object violently. The impact may cause the brain to hit against the inside of the skull, causing serious damage and possible death. TBIs often result in confusion, memory loss, impaired judgment, and seizures. An attorney can work with you to prove your case and receive the maximum compensation available.
Spinal cord injuries: spinal cord injuries occur when the spinal cord is injured during a car accident. The spinal cord controls many vital functions, including muscle movement and reflexes. Injury to the spinal cord often results in paralysis below the neck, which can require lifelong care and treatment.
Compound fractures: These injuries are often caused by impact from motor vehicle collisions. These fractures can occur in the arms, legs, and ribs.
Internal organ damage: Damage to internal organs is a common injury reported from car accidents. This can include damage to the liver, lungs, and heart. It can also include injuries to the pancreas, intestines, and bladder.
The unfortunate truth is that car accident injuries can lead to serious long-term health problems, and can even be life-threatening. If you have been involved in a car accident, it is important to seek the help of a qualified Los Angeles car accident attorney as soon as possible.
