Los Angeles, CA – Woman Loses Life in Car Crash on W Pico Blvd
Los Angeles, CA (October 1, 2023) – A woman has lost her life as a result of a major accident that took place on the west side of Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, September 28.
At around 1:35 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash in the Carthay neighborhood.
According to official reports, a black Mercedes-Benz SUV and a white Chevrolet pickup truck collided in the 6000 block of West Pico Boulevard. The accident caused major delays near an adult care center located on the roadway.
The pickup truck came to rest on the sidewalk following the accident. It appears that the pickup truck crashed through a glass door at the business, causing some damage to the Sinai Adult Day Health Care facility.
A female in her 60s, who worked at the healthcare facility, was injured in the accident. A second victim, identified as a male client, who was in his 90s, was struck by the pickup truck and suffered significant injuries.
The two victims were transported to area hospitals. Authorities confirmed that the woman passed away as a result of her injuries.
At this time, the crash is being investigated.
We hope the injured man recovers quickly.
Our condolences are with the family of the woman who died in this crash.
Fatal Auto Accidents in California
California is second in the lead of total traffic-related fatalities across the nation. With nearly 4,000 people losing their lives in traffic accidents annually, these accidents continue to have a life-changing impact on families statewide. When drivers are speeding, engaging in distracting behaviors, impaired, or driving recklessly, they place their lives and the lives of others sharing the road at serious risk for injuries.
When people lose their lives in traffic-related incidents, their families are often left with stacking financial obligations related to funeral arrangements and property damages. In some cases, families lose a source of income that they have grown to rely on.
