Car Accidents in California
A vehicle accident can have a devastating impact on your life instantly. Unfortunately, we see many people here in the state of California left with severe injuries as a result of crashes that take place every year. In fact, tens of thousands of people across our state require hospitalization for the injuries that they suffer in vehicle collisions. Some of the most common injuries reported in vehicle collisions across our state include:
- Internal organ injuries: these severe injuries can be life-threatening if they are not treated immediately.
- Broken bones: Broken bones are also common in car accidents, especially in high-speed collisions. Broken bones can require immediate casting and, in some cases, surgery.
- Spinal cord injuries: These devastating injuries can result in partial or complete paralysis of the affected area.
Unfortunately, many people are injured in accidents due to negligent drivers.
One of the most common causes of car accidents is distracted driving. This can be anything from texting while driving, to talking on the phone, to eating or drinking while behind the wheel.
Speeding is another major cause of car accidents. Many drivers underestimate the time it takes to stop their vehicles at high speeds, which can lead to serious accidents.
Failing to yield is another common cause of car accidents. This occurs when a driver does not yield the right-of-way to another driver who has the right-of-way. This can often happen at intersections or when one driver is trying to merge into traffic.
