Sylmar, CA – Teen Fatally Injured in Head-On Crash on Foothill Blvd
Sylmar, CA (November 29, 2022) – The Los Angeles Police Department is actively investigating a fatal collision that took place on Sunday in the Sylmar area. On November 27, the LAPD was notified that a crash occurred in the area of 13820 Foothill Boulevard.
Just before noon, a silver Toyota pickup truck and a Prius collided head-on on Foothill Boulevard. Preliminary reports show that a Prius was leaving the parking lot at the VR time market when a teen was driving down the roadway at the same time. In order to avoid a collision with the vehicle that pulled out onto the roadway, the driver of the vehicle swerved and collided head-on with the pickup truck.
A teen involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 56-year-old man involved in the accident was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
At this time, the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating.
We hope the man hurt in this crash recovers quickly.
Our condolences are with the family of the teen who lost his life in this crash.
Car Accidents in California
Fatal accidents are reported every year in the state of California. Unfortunately, these collisions take the lives of thousands of people every year in our state. Many of these accidents are a result of negligence. We see countless people lose their lives as a result of drivers who are speeding, intoxicated, or distracted while behind the wheel.
Losing a loved one as a result of a fatal accident can have a devastating impact on your life. Unfortunately, families across Southern California are forced to deal with the overwhelming consequences of these accidents.
If you have lost a loved one in a car accident that was caused by another driver’s negligence, a wrongful death claim may be able to help you recover financial compensation for some of the damages that you face. In order to file a wrongful death claim, there are certain eligibility requirements that must be met.
First, the decedent must have died as a result of the other party’s negligence or intentionality. Second, the surviving family members must have suffered financial damages as a result of the death. Finally, there must be someone who is able to serve as the personal representative of the deceased person’s estate.
When filing a wrongful death lawsuit, you will need to prove that the other driver was negligent and that their actions were the cause of the crash. You will also need to prove that that fatal accident caused damages to you. A wrongful death lawyer in Sylmar can help you to determine if a wrongful death claim can help your family get justice.
