Auto Accidents in California
Every day, innocent people are injured as a result of automobile accidents that take place right here in California. There are countless instances where people are harmed as a result of drivers who are under the influence. Being drunk or high while behind the wheel can impact the driver’s ability to operate their vehicle responsibly. Some of the ways impairment can affect the driver’s abilities include:
- Impaired reaction time: When a person is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they are unable to react in time to avoid people or other vehicles nearby.
- Reduced attention span: Drivers who are under the influence may not be able to pay attention to the road ahead. They may become easily distracted and have problems avoiding collisions with others.
- Reduced coordination: When a driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they are likely to experience reduced coordination. This can impact their ability to operate their vehicle effectively and safely.
- Decreased judgment: Drivers who are under the influence may think that they have more space between themselves and others nearby than they really do. This can lead drivers to strike other vehicles and pedestrians in the area.
- Impaired vision: When a person is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they may not be able to see other vehicles or people nearby due to experiencing vision problems.
