Fatal Car Accidents in California
Automobile accidents in the state of California take the lives of nearly 4000 people annually. Many of these accidents are preventable. We see innocent people lose their lives due to crashes caused by negligent and reckless drivers. This is particularly true when the collisions involve a side impact, known as the T-bone collision.
There are several factors that lead to T-bone accidents taking place. Some of the leading include:
- Failure to stop or yield at a stop sign or red light
- Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Making an illegal turn or maneuver, such as a U-turn or left turn against a red light
- Speeding, especially through intersections
- Driver fatigue or inattention
- Inadequate signage or road markings at the intersection
- Distracted driving, such as using a cell phone or adjusting the radio while driving
- Poor visibility due to weather conditions or obstacles, such as parked cars or trees
Additionally, drivers may aggressively turn in front of other vehicles thinking that they have time to make it. These accidents can be incredibly devastating. Unfortunately, the force of the impact often causes vehicles to overturn.
