Los Angeles, CA – Two Killed in Plane Crash at Santa Monica Airport on Donald Douglas Loop
Los Angeles, CA (September 10, 2022) – A plane crash took place in the Santa Monica area on Thursday afternoon that claimed the lives of two people while prompting a large-scale investigation.
At approximately 4:40 p.m., on September 8, the Santa Monica fire department and the police responded to a crash involving a single-engine, two-seat Piper Sport plane that occurred on Donald Douglas Loop.
Preliminary reports show that a plane crashed in the 3300 block of Donald Douglas loop near the Santa Monica airport. The incident resulted in targeted wreckage being dropped along the runway.
Two people were fatally injured as a result of this crash. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident at this time.
