Car Accidents in California
Every year, fatal car crashes take the lives of thousands of people in the state of California. On average, over 10 people die daily as a result of these accidents. Many of the crashes that take place in our state are a result of negligent motorists. Some common causes of fatal car crashes across California include:
- Reckless driving: Reckless driving occurs when a driver ignores traffic laws or drives in an aggressive manner. This can include recklessly changing lanes, running red lights or passing stop signs, or weaving between lanes of travel
- Fatigued motorists: This can be caused by not getting enough sleep, working long hours, or having a medical condition that causes fatigue.
- Speeding: Speeding increases the risk of crashing by making it harder to control the car and more difficult to stop in an emergency.
- Distractions: There are many actions that take the attention of the driver of the road ahead. These can include texting, talking on a cell phone, or even eating while operating a vehicle.
