Car Accidents in California
Having your life completely turned upside down as a result of a car accident can be incredibly difficult to deal with. Unfortunately, hundreds of people are injured as a result of automobile collisions that occur in California every day. These incidents add up to hundreds of thousands of people statewide being hospitalized with injuries that affect their lives forever. Common injuries victims of car crashes suffer include traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, and even severe back injuries.
Dealing with the aftermath of an automobile collision can be incredibly challenging. Not only do victims face significant physical and emotional pain and suffering, but they are often forced to deal with financial burdens as well.
In California, victims who are injured in car accidents have the ability to pursue legal claims for compensation against the responsible party. Car accident claims in our state typically follow the pure comparative negligence statute. This states that individuals are able to recover damages that they suffered from the responsible party even if they shared fault for the accident. A victim has a right to claim compensation against another party in an accident even if the other party is one percent at fault for the crash taking place. The amount of compensation that a victim will recover will be reduced by the amount of fault they share. This makes it critically important to seek legal guidance during your claim in order to ensure you maximize your recovery.
