Fatal Plane Accidents in California
Each year, countless people die as a result of fatal plane crashes that take place in the United States. While the exact causes of any particular plane crash can be hard to determine, there are some leading causes of fatal accidents that we know contribute to many crashes. These include:
- Pilot error: This is often the most cited cause of fatal plane accidents. Pilot error can encompass a wide range of things, from poor decision-making to flying in unsafe conditions.
- Mechanical failure: Even the best-maintained aircraft can experience mechanical problems that can lead to fatal accidents. Common issues include engine failure, loss of control due to structural damage, and landing gear problems.
- Weather: Inclement weather is one of the most common reasons for planes to be diverted or delayed, but it can also be a factor in crashes. Severe turbulence, high winds, and low visibility can all make flying extremely dangerous and lead to accidents.
- Air traffic control error: Air traffic controllers have a huge responsibility when it comes to keeping planes safe while in the air. Unfortunately, mistakes do happen, and they can sometimes have tragic consequences.
