Los Angeles, CA – Pedestrian Loses Life in Car Crash at S Central Ave & E Florence Ave
Los Angeles, CA (June 20, 2022) – A pedestrian accident reported in the Florence-Graham section of Los Angeles claimed one person’s life. At around 12:20 a.m., on June 16, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a crash on South Central Avenue.
Reports from the Los Angeles Police Department show that officers with the LAPD were pursuing a woman in a white Toyota Avalon. As they passed through South Central Avenue between East Florence Avenue and 71st Street, the woman struck a male pedestrian who was in a crosswalk. The vehicle then continued forward, striking three parked cars and an electric pole while dragging the pedestrian for several hundred feet.
The man suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. The victim, a man in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The woman was arrested and transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
