Car Accidents in California
Car accidents are reported every day in California. Here in Southern California, thousands of people are seriously hurt as a result of collisions every year. In many cases, people suffer debilitating injuries and car crashes due to the reckless and careless actions of others.
If you have been hurt as a result of another driver’s negligence, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit to recover financial compensation. In order to prevail, you will need to prove that the defendant engaged in some sort of active negligence that caused you harm.
There are many factors that can contribute to who is at fault after a car crash. Here are some of the most common considerations:
- Did either driver violate any traffic laws?
- Was either driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol?
- Who had the right of way?
- Was either driver speeding?
- Was either driver distracted (was someone talking on the phone or eating)?
- Did either driver fail to yield?
- Did either driver run a red light or stop sign?
- Were there any witnesses to the accident?
