Car Accidents in California
Vehicle collisions are one of the top causes of accidental injuries and deaths in our state. Thousands of people end up passing away from collisions in our state each year. Tens of thousands more are left with significant injuries that require medical care.
Being harmed as a result of an accident can negatively affect your life in many ways. Many people are forced to undergo extensive medical treatment for the injuries that they have suffered. Some of the most common injuries and collisions include:
- Broken Bones: Broken bones are another common injury from car accidents. The force of the impact can cause bones to break or fracture, especially in high-speed crashes and accidents involving semi-trucks and motorcycles.
- Internal Bleeding: Internal bleeding can be incredibly serious and requires emergency medical attention. Internal bleeding can be life-threatening, so it's important to be aware of the signs, which include abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness.
- Spinal Cord Injuries: The spinal cord is a delicate structure that carries messages between the brain and the rest of the body. A car accident can cause the spinal cord to become damaged, resulting in paralysis or other serious injuries. Symptoms of a spinal cord injury can include back pain, weakness, numbness, tingling, and paralysis. In some cases, the consequences can lead to permanent disabilities.
