Car Accidents in California
Hundreds of thousands of vehicle collisions occur in the state of California each year. These crashes leave tens of thousands of people hurt. In California, personal injuries sustained in a car accident can include serious head injuries, spinal cord injuries, and fractures. Victims of car accidents may also suffer from psychological injuries, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition to physical injuries, victims of car accidents may also experience emotional trauma.
There are multiple reasons why vehicle wrecks continue to happen day after day in our state. The most common factors in crashes that we see include:
- Distracted Driving: Distracted drivers are often involved in fatal car crashes because they're not paying attention to the road. They may be talking on a phone, texting, eating, or even watching videos.
- Speeding: Speeding is also a major cause of car accidents. Not only does it increase your chances of getting into an accident, but it also puts other drivers and pedestrians in danger.
- DUI: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a major cause of car accidents. It's not only illegal, but it also puts you and other drivers in danger.
- Careless Driving: Careless driving includes various violations, such as speeding, not obeying traffic signals, and running red lights. Careless driving is often a sign of impaired judgment.
- Inattentive Driving: Inattentive drivers are usually too busy checking their phones, texting, or talking to their passengers to pay attention to the road.
