Car Accidents in California
Every day, innocent people are hurt as a result of car accidents in the state of California. The majority of accidents that take place are completely preventable. Quite often, negligence plays a role in motor vehicle crashes taking place. Some of the leading causes include:
- Impairment: Those who go behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol significantly increase their risk of crashing with other vehicles and people. Regrettably, intoxication can have a substantial impact on a driver's judgment, which can significantly impair their ability to make responsible decisions.
- Failure to yield: It is imperative that motorists make sure to yield the right-of-way to other vehicles before entering roadways, exiting driveways, or merging onto freeways. Sadly, there are a great variety of instances in which drivers fail to adhere to these requirements and cause serious accidents.
- Passing stop signs: It is essential for motorists to stop their vehicles whenever they are directed to do so before proceeding across an intersection. Unfortunately, we see a significant number of collisions take place as a direct result of vehicles that disregard stop signs. When motorists disregard stop signs, they deprive other vehicles of the opportunity to travel through the intersection in a secure manner.
When innocent victims are heard as a result of car crashes, they often have to go through extensive medical treatment. In order to cover some of the costs and losses that victims face following their accidents, it is crucial that they exercise their legal rights by filing a personal injury claim for compensation.
