Fatal Car Accidents in California
Fatal car crashes in California take the lives of thousands of people every year. Unfortunately, many accidents are preventable. There are many factors that contribute to these accidents taking place every day in our state. Some of the leading causes of fatal collisions include drunk drivers, distracted drivers, and drivers who engage in reckless actions.
One particularly reckless act that contributes to a significant portion of fatal car crashes in our state is speeding. When drivers are speeding on wet roadways, there is an increased likelihood that an accident will occur.
When you drive fast on wet roads, water can build up under your tires and cause them to lose contact with the pavement. This is called hydroplaning, and it can cause you to lose control of your vehicle.
In addition, when you speed on wet roads, your tires have less time to clear the water from their treads. This can lead to decreased traction and braking power and make it more difficult to stop or turn safely.
