Car Accidents in California
Crashes occur far too often in the state of California. In many cases, these accidents result in significant injuries for those involved. When victims are injured in accidents due to the negligence of others, they are able to pursue legal action against the responsible party. In order to recover, it is important that you are able to prove liability in your crash.
Liability in car accidents is determined by negligence. Negligence is the failure to use reasonable care, which is the care that a reasonable person would use in the same or similar circumstances. The legal definition of negligence can vary from state to state.
In California, if you are found to be even 1% at fault for an accident, you will be held liable for all of the damages caused by the accident. This is known as pure comparative negligence, and it can have a major impact on your case if you are involved in an accident.
It is important to remember that each case is unique, and liability will ultimately be determined by a judge or jury based on the specific facts and circumstances of your case. If you have been involved in a car accident, it is important to speak with a Los Angeles car accident attorney who can help you understand your rights and options that are available to help you move forward.
