Los Angeles, CA - Three-Car Crash on Roscoe Blvd Injures Nine
Los Angeles, CA (April 19, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle collision in the San Fernando Valley Thursday night left nine people injured, including two who sustained serious injuries, according to officials with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash was reported just after 9:00 p.m. on April 17 in the 13300 block of Roscoe Boulevard. Firefighters and paramedics arrived quickly and began triaging the injured individuals at the scene. Authorities confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the collision, though the series of events that led to the crash remains under investigation.
Emergency personnel transported at least two victims with serious injuries to nearby hospitals for advanced care. Seven others were treated for more moderate injuries and also taken for further evaluation. The section of Roscoe Blvd where the crash occurred was temporarily closed while emergency teams worked the scene and investigators collected evidence. Traffic in the area was significantly affected during the response. No official word has been released regarding the cause of the accident or whether drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role. Authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
We wish a full recovery to everyone injured in this incident.
Car Accidents in California
California remains one of the busiest states in terms of vehicle traffic, and with that comes a high rate of motor vehicle collisions. In 2023 alone, there were over 4,000 traffic fatalities and hundreds of thousands of injury crashes across the state. Densely populated areas like Los Angeles are particularly prone to multi-vehicle crashes, especially during evening hours when visibility drops and traffic conditions shift rapidly.
After a serious accident, many people are unsure of what steps to take next. One major area that causes confusion is dealing with damages to property. Here's what victims should understand:
- Vehicle Repair or Total Loss: After a crash, your car may be repairable or declared a total loss. An insurance adjuster will determine the cost of repairs and compare it to the value of the vehicle. If repairs exceed a certain threshold, your vehicle may be deemed totaled.
- Rental Car Coverage: If your policy includes rental reimbursement, you may qualify for a temporary replacement vehicle while your car is being repaired or replaced. Without this, the cost may come out of your own pocket.
- Aftermarket vs. OEM Parts: Insurance companies may use aftermarket parts to save on costs, but many people prefer original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts for safety and reliability. You can request OEM parts, but they may not be covered without a policy upgrade.
- Diminished Value Claims: Even after repairs, your car may lose market value due to its accident history. Some victims can pursue compensation for this “diminished value,” especially when another driver is at fault.
- Out-of-Pocket Costs: You may still be responsible for a deductible or expenses not fully covered by insurance. An attorney can help you recover these costs from the at-fault driver.
