Fatal Auto Accidents in California
In 2021, more than 30,800 people died as a result of fatal collisions in the state of California. These accidents are often caused by driver negligence. Some of the leading factors in vehicle collisions across the state include:
Speeding: Speeding is one of the most common causes of car crashes, and it’s also one of the quickest ones to cause serious injury or death. When you drive too fast for the conditions, you’re putting yourself and other drivers in danger. Someone who speeds regularly is four times as likely to get into a fatal car crash as someone who doesn’t speed at all.
Driving under the influence (DUI): DUI is a serious crime that can lead to jail time and a criminal record. Unfortunately, thousands of people are involved in accidents with drunk drivers every year in our state. Impaired drivers are unable to operate their vehicles in a safe manner. As a result, we see many collisions occur as a result of drunk or impaired drivers.
Careless driving: Careless driving is another major cause of car accidents, and it includes a wide range of behaviors that can lead to crashes. These behaviors might include driving too fast, failing to use proper braking techniques, or making careless turns. All of these pose serious risks to your safety and the safety of others on the road.
