Car Accidents in California
Car accidents are a leading cause of death in California. In 2015, 3,626 people were killed in car accidents in the state. That's an average of 10 people per day. Auto accidents also cause tens of thousands of injuries in our state annually.
The most common type of accidents are rear-end collisions, followed by sideswiped, and then head-on collisions. The leading cause of accidents was distracted driving, followed by speeding and then drunk driving.
There are more car accidents in California than in any other state in the US. That's why it's so important to be careful when you're driving in California. Here are some tips to help you avoid car accidents in California:
- Drive defensively. Be aware of other drivers and what they might do.
- Avoid distractions. Don't text or talk on the phone while you're driving.
- Obey the speed limit. Speeding is one of the leading causes of car accidents.
- Watch out for pedestrians and cyclists. They have the right of way, so make sure you yield to them.
If you follow these tips, you'll be less likely to get into a car accident in California. But even if you're a careful driver, accidents can still happen. If you're involved in a car accident, make sure you get the other driver's insurance information and contact a Long Beach car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
