Fatal Car Accidents in California
Fatal car crashes claim the lives of thousands of people in California annually. There are many instances where innocent people and passing away as a result of accidents that are caused by negligent drivers who are sharing the road. Some of the most common negligent actions that cause accidents in our state include:
- Running red lights: Regrettably, we see a significant number of collisions take place as a direct result of vehicle drivers who ignore stop signs and other traffic signals. This can lead to major accidents, which can then result in even more serious injuries. The unfortunate truth is that more than half of the accidents that take place in our state take place at intersections.
- Speeding: On every single road in the state of California, there is a speed limit sign. The purpose of these speed limits is to enable cars to move at a speed that is safe in consideration of the circumstances of the road and a variety of other aspects. When drivers exceed the posted speed limit, they risk causing severe accidents in which the victims sustain life-threatening injuries that change their lives forever.
- Intoxication: Drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs have a significantly increased risk of causing motor vehicle accidents that result in victims suffering serious injuries.
