Car Accidents in California
Over 16,000 vehicle collisions are reported in the state of California every single month. These accidents add up to hundreds of thousands of crashes taking place annually in our state. There are many cases where people involved in these accidents are left with severe injuries. We see countless people hospitalized with spinal cord fractures, broken bones, and even internal injuries.
Unfortunately, many of these accidents are preventable. We see innocent people harm daily as a result of drivers who choose to engage in acts of negligence while operating their vehicles. Leading causes of crashes that we see include:
- Distracted driving: Over the past decade, driving has become one of the leading causes of car accidents. Whether it's texting, talking on the phone, or simply not paying attention to the road, distracted driving is dangerous and can lead to serious accidents.
- DUI: Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is never a good idea, and yet people continue to do it every day. DUI is a major cause of car accidents in California and can result in serious injuries or even death.
- Speeding: Speed limits are in place for a reason - to help keep us safe on the road. But far too many people choose to ignore them, and this often leads to accidents. Speeding is especially dangerous when combined with other factors like distracted driving or poor weather conditions.
- Weather: California is known for its beautiful weather, but that doesn't mean that it's always perfect for driving. Rain, snow, and ice can all make driving conditions more difficult and can lead to accidents.
- Poor road conditions: Potholes, construction zones, and other road hazards can also contribute to car accidents.
If you have suffered injuries as a result of the vehicle collision, and you believe that someone’s negligence played a role, you must reach out to a car accident lawyer in Los Angeles right away.
